Extrusion Engineer

Job Summary
Support process improvements, scrap reduction, and sustaining engineering for fluoropolymer and silicone extrusion manufacturing. Provide technical troubleshooting to ensure cost, quality, delivery, and safety targets are met while evaluating waste and developing reduction plans. Conduct engineering analysis, design of experiments, and trials to optimize processes, and lead capital equipment planning through qualification. Deliver Design for Manufacturability input for new product development and maintain tooling configurations and documentation. Spend over 70% of time in production areas supporting operations and coordinating with maintenance and EHS for safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 2-5 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ideally aerospace or similar industry experience
- Experience working with extrusion, particularly fluoropolymer
- Experience or knowledge of LSS tools
- Utilization of formal problem-solving methodologies (RCA, PDCA, 8D, DMAIC, etc.)
- Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to explain complex operations and methods clearly and concisely to other employees, suppliers, and customers
- Co-operation with others and treating all with respect

- Willingness to accept feedback from others
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day
- Ability to frequently use hands to handle objects and communicate verbally
- Ability to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hand protection
- Qualification as a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)
- Ability to legally work in the United States
