Job Summary
Extruder Operator needed to run high-tech extrusion production lines and 72-inch winding equipment with a focus on precision and quality. Responsibilities include operating and setting up extrusion lines (up to 3”), controlling heat zones (4–8 zones), programming digital inkjet systems for product coding, maintaining equipment per specifications and safety standards, performing precise measurements with calipers to verify diameter and wall thickness, ensuring 100% traceability by matching spool labels to digital Traveler records, and upholding ISO 9001 quality compliance. Additional duties cover safety practices (LOTO during setup/maintenance), basic preventative maintenance, managing final packaging, and mentoring Extrusion Assistants to meet production targets. The role emphasizes detail orientation, data entry, timely shift readiness, proactive learning, strong teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Required Qualifications
- Detail-Oriented
- Comfortable using basic math and are willing to learn how to use precision tools like calipers to measure product thickness
- Comfortable using computers or touchscreens to enter data
- Ability to write clearly and legibly to keep track of production numbers and labels
- Track record of being on time and ready to work for every shift
- Eager to build new skills, ask questions when you're unsure, and take pride in the quality of your work
- Coachability to follow instructions well, listen to feedback, and are happy to help your teammates when needed
- Initiative to keep your workstation tidy and organized without being asked
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and calm when production priorities change
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures
