Job Summary
Start-up and shutdown extruder lines, adjusting processes to mitigate quality defects and ensuring all hems and rolls meet first-quality standards. Perform proper start-up operations, fill silos with raw material, and change screen packs for all extruders. Record production on hour-by-hour boards, update process check sheets every two hours, and correct any manufacturing or maintenance issues. Operate the ESTL machine for quality checks, fill in for the Group Leader as needed, and maintain a clean work area following the 6S process. Work 12-hour shifts from 8:00am to 8:00pm or 8:00pm to 8:00am at Signode's manufacturing facility in Florence, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Be able to fill in and perform all Winder Operator II and Extruder Operator I & II skills
- Be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
