Extruder Operator- B Shift (3:45pm-4am)

Job Summary
Extruder Operator on the B Shift responsible for operating extruders, cutters, and conveyors, including start-up, shut-down, troubleshooting, and cleaning of each machine. Responsible for recording production data and ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to Calbee policies. Performs product changeovers, adjusts conveyors/line configurations, monitors extrusion operations to maintain consistent product quality, assembles/disassembles extruders per SOPs, troubleshoots equipment to minimize downtime, trains and cross-trains new operators, and collaborates with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support production flow and scheduling. Maintains clean work area and follows safety and sanitation standards (GMPs, HACCP, SQF) and participates in training sessions related to Safety, HACCP, SQF. Complies with Plant, State, and Federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA). Demonstrates understanding and application of SQF principles and supports a culture of food safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Prior experience with extrusion, milling, or seasoning equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent attendance and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively, learn multiple roles, and maintain high work standards
- Desire to be a hands-on contributor within a high-performance production team
