Job Summary
Set up, maintain, and operate extruder machinery for the 2nd shift, ensuring efficient production cycles and safe work environments. Load extruder hoppers with plastic granules and color concentrates per specifications, adjust machine settings for speed and temperature, and load wire reels through the extruder head and die water trough. Monitor operations to fix issues, check output for flaws, and assist with printing section setups when required. Complete on-the-job training while collaborating closely with colleagues to maximize efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a machine operator
- Knowledge of process equipment, tooling and procedures in order to set up, operate, and maintain equipment work area in a safe, productive manner
- Understanding of production procedures and preventative maintenance
- Adherence to safety regulations
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to work efficiently, and effectively both independently, and collaboratively
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience with Wire, PVC and/or plastic extrusion
