Job Summary
As an Extra-Help Public Safety Law Enforcement Officer, the primary responsibility includes patrolling assigned areas to detect and prevent crimes, enforce traffic laws, issue traffic citations, and ensure campus safety. The individual will conduct investigations of crimes and accidents, respond to alarms, and assist stranded motorists. Candidates must maintain a professional appearance, perform routine maintenance on patrol units, and work rotating shifts under varying weather conditions. Certification by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy is required, along with the ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess valid Arkansas driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive personal and criminal history background investigation
- Must meet the minimum physical and employment requirements as a law enforcement officer
- Must be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training
- Must not have either entered a plea of guilty or been convicted of a Felony, or Domestic Violence Offense
