Job Summary
The childcare aide/substitute will assist the lead and assistant educators in all tasks related to managing the classroom, including supervising children, providing positive guidance, comforting and engaging with children, facilitating indoor/outdoor activities, assisting with routines (toileting/diapering, hand washing, meals), and supporting classroom operations in the Center’s policies. The role covers classroom, kitchen, and administrative tasks as needed to supplement the program’s quality and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 8 weeks to 5 years. Requires a high school diploma equivalent, 1+ year experience with young children, and availability for standard daytime shifts and on-call coverage; background checks are part of pre-employment screening.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least one year of experience working with young children between the ages of 8 weeks and 5 years
- Available for regularly scheduled shifts between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Available for on-call shifts to meet the needs of unexpected absences or illnesses
- Must commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week
