Job Summary
The childcare aide/substitute is to supplement the quality of the child care program by assisting in the classroom, kitchen, and administrative offices when needed. Responsibilities include assisting lead and assistant educators in tasks related to managing the classroom, providing positive and effective guidance to children, comforting children, redirecting unsafe activities, actively engaging with children, supervising during indoor/outdoor play, assisting with routines (cleaning, diapering, hand washing, serving meals), conducting activities prepared by educators, and following the Center's policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least one year of experience working with young children between the ages of 8 weeks and 5 years
- Available for regularly scheduled shifts between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Available for on-call shifts to meet the needs of unexpected absences or illnesses
- Must commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week
