Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, detect and minimize safety hazards, and maintain accurate records and logs. Load or unload freight as required by the customer. Operate a Class A CDL tractor pulling a flatbed trailer, with a preference for 12 months of flatbed experience and truck-mounted forklift skills. Deliver solo to Texas, occasionally to Oklahoma City, Louisiana, and Arkansas, returning home each weekend. Begin Monday through Friday shifts at 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM, with travel on Saturdays. This solo driver role offers weekly pay starting at $1,365, including per diem and travel reimbursement, alongside comprehensive benefits like medical coverage after 30 days and 80 hours of PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Desired Qualifications
- 12 Months of Flatbed Experience is Preferred
- Truck Mounted Forklift experience highly preferred
