Job Summary
External Union Organizers at SEIU Wisconsin are responsible for executing organizing campaigns to secure union recognition and member mobilization. Key responsibilities include implementing organizing strategies, educating and engaging workers, organizing community support, and maintaining accurate records. Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to social justice, effective communication abilities, and organizational skills. A valid driver's license and vaccination proof against COVID-19 are required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as an Organizer or demonstrated ability to carry on the responsibilities of the job
- Excellent interpersonal skills to cultivate respectful relationships with diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to learning about leading and motivating workers
- Dedication to workers’ rights and social justice
- Skilled at managing and meeting deadlines
- Effective oral, written and listening skills in English
- Excellent analytical and judgment skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
- Effective meeting facilitation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of computer programs including Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
