Job Summary
As an External Mortgage Loan Officer at Canvas Credit Union, you'll consult with mortgage applicants, identify their financial needs, and offer suitable mortgage solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining exceptional member service throughout the loan process, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, and developing relationships with realtors and financial advisors. Candidates need a solid understanding of mortgage products, strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a demonstrated history in sales. A high school diploma is required, alongside 1-3 years of mortgage lending experience and NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of mortgage products and guidelines
- Proficient knowledge of Secondary Market, RESPA, TRID and MDIA guidelines
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong relationship building and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated track record of success in sales and customer service
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid knowledge of Canvas financial products and services
- Must have current NMLS S.A.F.E. ACT registration number
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado drivers’ license and provide proof of insurance
- Must possess automobile for use to multiple locations.
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.
