Job Summary
External Communications Vice President role overseeing external communications strategy for Chase Auto across Retail and Consumer, Commercial Solutions, and Private Label Captive Finance. Lead media strategy, counsel senior executives, translate complex financial/automotive topics for external stakeholders, and manage reputational risk while driving executive visibility and thought leadership across consumer and commercial segments. Responsibilities include shaping narratives, coordinating media interviews and speaking engagements, overseeing agency partners, and ensuring messaging consistency with firmwide priorities. Requires senior-level experience with national financial/auto media, exceptional writing and editing skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, regulated industry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications
- 7+ years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in external communications, corporate communications, or public relations
- Experience engaging consumer-facing media and B2B/trade publications
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Ability to anticipate and manage reputational risk in a regulated industry
- Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders
