Job Summary

External Communications Vice President, Branded Card within Chase's Consumer & Community Banking Communications team leads external storytelling and PR for the Freedom and Slate credit card portfolios. Develops and executes strategic, 360 integrated marketing/communications campaigns; leads proactive media outreach and influencer engagement; drafts pitches, press releases, and social content; oversees agency collaboration; protects and enhances the firm's reputation; collaborates with internal teams and executives to pull through meaningful narratives across channels; requires 7+ years in external communications/PR, experience in financial services or consumer product industries, executive communications experience, strong writing and travel flexibility, and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an external communications/PR role
  • Proactive and reactive media relations experience
  • Experience in financial services, credit cards, entertainment or consumer product industries; relationships with consumer lifestyle and/or business/finance media
  • Executive communications experience – consulting directly with an executive/leaders; strong presentations skills
  • Some domestic travel required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to build meaningful narratives and storylines
  • Strong relationship-building and collaborative decision-making skills; ability to inspire confidence from executives, peers and other functional groups
  • Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills; ability to work with executives, peers and cross-functional teams
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity; ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Experience with measurement tools to demonstrate success; fluency across social media and multi-media channels
  • Ability to adapt with speed, flexibility, and a go-getter attitude
