Job Summary
Extension Agent implements, plans, and evaluates educational programs and activities in the Agriculture and Natural Resources (AgNR) unit for the Cooperative Extension Program (CEP) in Liberty County, TX. Responsibilities include planning with committees and groups to conduct educational programs; developing outcome-based program plans; coordinating with county, district, and PVAMU staff; preparing reports and summaries to demonstrate program results and changes in behavior; conducting interpretation events for county/state officials; delivering programs in STEM, Healthy Living, civic engagement, leadership, and college/career readiness; recruiting and training local volunteer leaders; utilizing diverse teaching methods and materials; ensuring compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and related plans; supporting 4-H clubs and community organizations; evaluating programs to determine progress and impacts; developing professional development plans and facilitating staff training; maintaining records, files, and outreach materials; and performing other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience required. Skills include word processing, spreadsheet and database proficiency, knowledge of teaching methods, communication skills, multitasking, and collaboration. Travel and vehicle requirements are noted, with a focus on local county duties and occasional travel for official duties.
