Job Summary
Monitor students in play areas, study time, and Autoline settings to ensure safety and policy adherence. Foster healthy rapport with students through active listening, accountability, and positive behavior modeling. Communicate promptly with supervisors, staff, and families while maintaining clerical records for attendance and incidents. Assist with planning age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities, provide first aid when needed, and escort students to vehicles during dismissal. Attend scheduled meetings and training. Complete mandatory orientation, fingerprint background check, and TB clearance. Work Monday through Friday during extended school hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully pass a fingerprint background check
- Must provide TB clearance
- Must complete all DHS staff requirements for program licensing (High School graduates)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to perform the physical tasks required for the position, including reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, and operating standard office equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate and perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Demonstrated constructive and flexible approach to all aspects of required duties
- Ability to handle interruptions and multiple demands
- Ability to appropriately interact with students and colleagues in various situations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training
- Currently (or ability to be) certified in first aid/CPR or other emergency procedures
