Job Summary
Extended Instruction High School Teacher responsible for delivering English intervention, meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning standards-aligned study, and fostering an environment conducive to learning. Key duties include creating a responsive program of study, guiding students toward district curriculum goals, preparing lessons with clear objectives, employing diverse instructional techniques, communicating progress to parents, maintaining accurate records, diagnosing learning challenges, protecting students and property, supervising paraprofessionals, and participating in ongoing professional growth and district-wide initiatives. The role requires licensure in English content for the appropriate grade level and a relevant bachelor’s degree (master’s degree with license preferred) within a Western Massachusetts district renowned for equity and excellence. Attending district meetings and school-sponsored activities is expected, along with contributing to budget and curriculum decisions.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license for English content area and grade level (Massachusetts DESE) or Master’s Degree with appropriate content license (preferred)
- Highly qualified with required competency in English content area
- Appropriate license for English content and grade level from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
