Job Summary
Maintain student safety and mediate disputes while facilitating games, arts, cooking, and sports in the Extended Day and After3 programs. Plan and execute activities that balance quiet study time with play for K-8 students, assist with homework, and prepare healthy snacks. Keep both indoor and outdoor environments calm and clean. Collaborate with fellow team members and attend weekly staff meetings on Tuesday afternoons. Work weekday afternoons during the academic year for approximately 17.5 hours per week. The San Francisco Friends School supports Quaker learning traditions and encourages a peaceful, caring society.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with students in a school and/or educational setting eg. Student tutoring, camp counselor, child care provider
- Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills
- Must pass background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) and provide recent TB clearance prior to start
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, run, move equipment, hear and visually interact with students. Reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
