Extended Assignment Travel RN - Operating Room Circulator

Job Summary

Conduct operating room circulator duties, performing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for individualized patient care. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication, document care timely, and partner with patients and families using bedside reports and interdisciplinary rounds. Uphold Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act standards, American Nurses Association ethics, and WellStar safety absolutes while participating in performance improvement and shared governance activities. Complete mandatory education, serve as a preceptor, and contribute to protocol development to reduce re-admissions and adverse events. Requires 13-week surge season contract (Oct–March) with 36 hours/week, three Mondays/Fridays, and three Saturdays/Sundays. Minimum one year OR circulation experience; BSN or diploma with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous Travel experience
  • 13 week contract
  • Bachelors Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional
  • Pediatric Adv Life Support or PALS - Instructor or PALS - Provisional
  • NIH Stroke Scale within 30 Days
  • Certification in a National specialty
  • Minimum 1 year of experience circulating in OR
  • Ability to read, write and speak English language
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
  • Possess excellent time management skills
  • Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills
  • 3 (three) Mondays and/or Fridays
  • 3 (three) Saturdays and/or Sundays in a 4-week scheduling period
  • 36 hours/week
  • 1 (one) 13-week assignment between Oct 1st - March 31st (surge season) each year
