Job Summary
Deliver group and individual therapy sessions utilizing art, music, and expressive modalities to facilitate healing for patients facing mental health challenges. Document treatment plans and track patient progress in group logs within medical records. Communicate care ideas and progress to the multidisciplinary team while participating in monthly supervision meetings. Use clinical tools for crisis intervention and provide psychosocial, psycho-educational, and self-help resource information to patients and families. Actively participate in hospital-wide events supporting patients and the team. This role empowers patients to explore their emotions and improve quality of life within a trauma-informed care environment at a safety-net hospital serving over 33,000 annual patients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or a related field
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with diverse populations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity
- Empathy and active listening skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to sit, stand and walk
- Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift, pull, push or move patients and/or equipment
- Fine motor skills
- Normal or corrected vision
- Normal or corrected hearing

- Ability to distinguish colors
Desired Qualifications
