Expressive Arts Program Specialist

Job Summary

Develop and facilitate therapeutic art therapy groups addressing clinical needs for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Provide individual counseling and complete assessments to determine participant appropriateness for Intensive Treatment Services programming. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. Manage program supplies, inventory, and budget, and supervise interns and other therapy staff. Lead planning for the annual Art of Recovery event in collaboration with marketing. Requires a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Art Therapy with three to five years of experience, plus a current state motor vehicle license. Registered Art Therapist status preferred. Located in Akron, Ohio.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Art Therapy, other closely related field
  • Three to five years of experience working with persons with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Current State motor vehicle operator's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Registered Art Therapist (ATR)
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
