Job Summary
Department Manager at Bunnings responsible for daily operations, sales and high-volume stock management within a specialist area. Leads a team of 20+ and collaborates with Service, Inside the Home, Builders and Lifestyles & Garden departments, reporting to Operations Manager and Complex Manager. Drives service and operations, trains and develops staff, ensures the department showcases the Widest Range and Best Prices, monitors customer service levels, liaises with Merchandising, Store Leadership and Health and Safety, and maintains stock accuracy, safety culture, and compliance. Includes a minimum 1 in 3 weekend roster with some public holiday work; duties include rostering, merchandising excellence, loss prevention, and delivering the Best Experience to customers.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience leading teams in the retail/high-volume environment
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Ability to train and develop team members
- Safety leadership and compliance with policies and procedures
- Coaching and performance management
- Merchandising excellence and KPI monitoring
- Stock accuracy, replenishment discipline, and loss prevention
- Experience in rostering and planning to meet service goals
- Open/close store responsibilities
- Customer service excellence and managing the end-to-end experience
- Collaboration with Merchandising, Store Leadership and Health and Safety teams
- Willingness to work weekends and some public holidays
