Job Summary
Entry-level Automotive Technician at Carvana responsible for performing basic vehicle services (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes) and assisting mid-level/advanced technicians with more complex repairs under supervision. Will conduct initial safety and maintenance inspections using foundational knowledge and diagnostic tools, document services accurately, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Must collaborate with team, participate in training, and adhere to dealership/OEM procedures to ensure vehicle safety. Ideal candidate demonstrates a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, effective communication, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting; physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and working indoors/outdoors; valid driver's license; English proficiency; background check required. Not visa-sponsored.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of professional experience as an Automotive Technician, or recent completion of an accredited automotive technical training program
- Foundational knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, brakes, and tires
- A strong willingness to learn, adapt, and follow instructions
- Basic proficiency with common automotive tools and equipment
- Strong problem-solving potential and a commitment to critical thinking
- Good communication and time management skills
- A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- A clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
- Will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
- May be required to work overtime and weekends
- Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each
- May at times require working different shifts
- Lift up to 60 pounds frequently
- Walk up to three miles each
