Job Summary
Monitor, maintain, and communicate export control policies to ensure compliance with Canadian and US government regulations. Complete and review End-User statements, permits, and licenses for Canadian and foreign jurisdictions while applying for re-export authorizations with the US Department of State. Manage the Export Controls Online platform, liaise with local and foreign government agencies, and support other MDA locations on trade control tasks. Review Technical Assistance Agreements and DSP-5s, provide training on export controls, and act as Alternate Security Officer to manage access to segregated computer directories. Report risks to management periodically and devise creative solutions to solve export issues while balancing legal implications with business continuity.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience in export controls
- University or College degree in International Trade, Commerce or Law from a recognized institution or 2+ years of relevant experience
- Understanding of Canadian and US export laws, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian exports and imports permits act
- Good understanding of anticorruption and due diligence practices policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment and with minimum supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of the organization and with external customers
- Possess good judgement and the ability to resolve complex export related issues
- Must be dead-line oriented and flexible and be able to work under pressure
- Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the secret level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR

- Good understanding of space technology would be a definite asset
