Export Control Officer at UT Austin serves as Empowered Official and lead for export compliance across the university. The role also entails developing strategic goals, implementing training and education programs, overseeing staff, maintaining export-control records, monitoring regulatory changes, and coordinating outreach to campus constituencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of export compliance related experience
  • Strong knowledge of the EAR, OFAC and ITAR
  • Experience with databases and electronic systems (e.g., Visual Compliance, DS-4076 CJ Determination Form, SNAP-R, D-Trade)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • High level of initiative
  • U.S. Person as defined in 22 CFR § 120.62 and eligible to serve as Empowered Official under ITAR
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication
