Job Summary
Support Operations and Legal teams by ensuring Smith's adherence to regional and global trade compliance regulations, including import/export controls. Understand regulatory requirements to advise management and adapt processes where necessary, while providing general trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders. Execute internal and external audits, implement corrective actions, and research customs master data with Export Licensing and Quality Control teams. Investigate unusual business activity that may result in violations or inquiries to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., logistics or supply chain) or equivalent job experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Capable of interpreting regulations and translating them into business practices
- Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational and teaching skills
- Ability to drive compliance behaviors in good balance with business objectives
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of trade compliance experience
- 3+ years of experience with HTS database management
- Prior experience working in the semiconductor/electronics distribution industry
- ECTI certification
- Experience with DNB, Alliance or other trade compliance tools
