Exploration Geologist

Job Summary
Conduct geological logging of drill core and RC chips, identify sampling intervals, and submit data to the laboratory. Import geological information into databases while following Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures. Assist with planning drilling programs, interpreting geochemical and geological data, and supporting resource modelling and estimation efforts. Prepare technical reports and contribute to regulatory submissions as required. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards and share knowledge with the team. Work an 8 days on, 6 days off roster in a residential role within Otago, New Zealand.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in geology
- Full and Current Driver Licence
- Must have current New Zealand work rights / visa
- 2-5 year's postgraduate experience in a Brownfields exploration environment
- Geology degree that includes papers relevant to Economic Geology
- Geology fieldwork/ project work as part of degree
- Previous experience working in a mining environment
- A solid practical understanding of QA/QC theory
- Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ
- 8 days on, 6 days off, 12 hour, dayshift only roster
Desired Qualifications
- Honours or postgraduate qualification
- Ability to drive manual vehicles
- Computer literacy including experience in GIS, mining software and databases
