Job Summary
Conduct organized walking activities and garden time for seniors with cognitive impairment at the Woodland Pond Health Center, ensuring their safety, well-being, and enjoyment. Maintain participant registers, monitor group pace and fatigue, and provide emotional support through conversation and mobility assistance. Manage logistics by verifying medical clearance, arriving early to review destinations, and delivering pre-walk orientations covering routes and safety precautions. Administer basic first aid, respond to incidents, and carry essential medical information during offsite outings. Requires current CPR and Basic First Aid certification, reliable transportation, and physical stamina.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- HSE
- Proven experience working with senior citizens, particularly those with a dementia diagnosis, in a caregiving, recreational, or volunteer capacity
- Reliable transportation
