Job Summary
Exploitation Specialist responsible for hands-on hardware security assessments using EM/FI attacks, glitching, and vulnerability research on microcontrollers, secure elements, and IoT devices. Tasks include performing advanced EM/FI attacks, hardware reverse engineering, circuit analysis, firmware analysis, and vulnerability research to support defensive countermeasures. The role requires operating benchtop test equipment, micro-soldering and board rework, and documenting findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred experience includes EM/FI or voltage fault injection techniques, familiarity with FI platforms (e.g., ChipWhisperer, Riscure), knowledge of differential fault analysis and side-channel analysis, cryptographic implementations and secure boot concepts, and prior embedded systems penetration testing. Communication of complex concepts and collaborative work within a security-focused team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top-Secret Clearance
- BS in Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 3-5 years of directly related experience
- Demonstrated hardware reverse engineering and integrated circuit analysis
- Proficiency with benchtop equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power analyzers, multimeters)
- Experience with micro-soldering and circuit board rework
- Understanding of embedded systems, microcontroller architectures (ARM, x86), and firmware analysis
- Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, JTAG
- Proficiency with Python and scripting for automation and data analysis
- Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to stakeholders
