Job Summary
Lead the authentication process for Impressionist and Modern Art consignments in the New York department, including writing letters and organizing certificates of authenticity; liaise with international experts and clients, coordinate expertise shipments domestically and internationally, and assist sale teams with auction-related projects. Requires fluent French, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Art History or Decorative Arts, 2–3 years of related work experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, proficiency with Outlook/Excel/MS Office, and the ability to work independently and in a global team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Art History or Decorative Arts
- Minimum of 2-3 years paid work experience in related field
- French language fluency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken)
- Strong client service and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word Processing and Presentation software (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Ability to learn Christie’s systems including COS, JDE, intranet and website
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a team environment with international offices
