Job Summary
Drive the design, implementation, and certification of a Vehicle Management System integrating inertial, air data, and GPS sensors for autonomous urban air mobility. Guide the Avionics Integrated Product Development team in defining functions, architecture, and requirements while improving process strategy for high-quality engineering delivery. Lead or contribute to safety-critical system integration activities and trade studies meeting FAA and EASA performance, size, weight, power, and safety standards. Collaborate closely with software, simulation, and test teams to ensure system interoperability. Mentor the team and exemplify the organization's quality culture and values.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 8 years of experience with a Master's degree
- PhD with 5 years experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of aircraft or large integrated systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience as a technical lead in a new product development environment
- Direct hands-on experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of aircrafts or large integrated systems
- Experience with ARP4754 and ARP4761
- Familiarity with DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254
- Experience in requirements management tools such as Polarion or DOORS
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Part 23/25, Part 33, and Part 35
- 25% of travel
- Mastery of English
- Functional knowledge of French
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of integrated avionics systems
- Experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of electrical systems
- Experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of battery management systems
- Experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of propulsion systems
- Experience in the development, integration, verification, and certification of fly-by-wire systems
- Experience in the architecture and design of aircraft-level systems
