Job Summary
Characterize protein-protein interactions using biophysical methods including mass photometry, analytical SEC, SEC-MALS, SPR, or BLI. Prepare and optimize samples for single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, managing complex assembly, negative-stain/grid screening, vitrification, and iterative optimization. Coordinate with internal and external cryo-EM imaging partners on grid screening and data collection while maintaining thorough electronic lab notebook records for reproducibility and traceability. This day shift position (approx. 8a-5p local time) supports the life sciences industry by delivering specialized laboratory services that advance research and accelerate innovation through quality and a shared commitment to excellence.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Biophysics, or related field
- Hands-on experience in protein biochemistry (expression/purification, chromatography) and protein-protein interaction characterization (e.g., mass photometry, SPR, BLI, ITC, or AUC)
- Familiarity with electron microscope sample preparation (negative stain and/or cryo-electron microscopy grid prep/screening)
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Works well both as a team and as an individual
- Demonstration of excellent team player skills, very strong attention to detail, very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions
- Leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery
