Job Summary
Conduct food processing expertise for SMEs by partnering with entrepreneurs across 26 countries to drive sustainable, inclusive business development. Translate technical knowledge of production technologies into practical project plans, whether operating remotely via Microsoft Teams or spending two weeks on-site with clients. Empower local communities to achieve social, environmental, and economic value while expanding professional networks through sector days. This voluntary role matches experts with up to three projects annually, covering flights and visas while clients provide accommodation. Join a global network of 1,200 skilled volunteers to make a tangible impact on diverse markets.
Required Qualifications
- proven experience with the food processing industry
- technical knowledge of production technologies
- understanding of the commercial realities faced by SMEs in competitive and regulated markets
- relevant experience in food processing
- experience with cheese production (old cheese)
- engineering to build cheese factories
- yoghurt
- dairy desserts (ice cream)
- dairy education
- bread baking, patisserie or chocolatery
- authentic, resilient, humble and dynamic professional
- appreciate cultural differences and interact with equality and respect
- eager to operate as a sparring partner in culturally diverse and changing circumstances
- hands-on and can translate knowledge into a practical plan
- excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing
- comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft Office 365
- reside in the Netherlands
- registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP)
- have Dutch basic health insurance
- Passing Prescreening (VOG)
