Job Summary
Conduct practical, cost-effective solutions in energy, water, and waste management to empower SMEs toward sustainable and inclusive business development. Translate your expertise into hands-on project plans while operating as a sparring partner in culturally diverse, changing circumstances. Matched with up to three projects annually, either on location for two weeks or remotely via Microsoft Teams. Leave a lasting social, environmental, and economic impact on communities worldwide. Expand your horizons through sector days and a global network of 1,200 volunteer experts.
Required Qualifications
- Education and/or relevant hands-on experience in one (or more) of the following expertise areas: Water, Waste, or Energy
- Water: Wastewater treatment (domestic waste water and/or industrial)
- Water: irrigation systems
- Water: groundwater, drilling, pumping
- Water: drinking water preparation, quality control, distribution
- Water: industrial water processes (osmosis, desalination, membrane technology, cooling water)
- Water: water saving techniques (industrial and in hospitality)
- Waste: Waste collection and logistics
- Waste: waste treatment (solid waste, hospital waste, chemical waste, building waste)
- Waste: mechanical separation techniques
- Waste: composting of organic waste
- Waste: waste incineration (small scale systems)
- Waste: sustainable landfill
- Waste: waste prevention/ cleaner production in industrial processes
- Energy: renewable energy solution such as solar energy, small-scale hydropower, biomass and clean cooking
- Authentic, resilient, humble and dynamic professional
- Appreciate cultural differences and interact with equality and respect
- Eager to operate as a sparring partner in culturally diverse and changing circumstances
- Hands-on and can translate knowledge into a practical plan
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing
- Comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft Office 365
- Reside in the Netherlands
- Registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP)
- Have Dutch basic health insurance
- Pass Prescreening (VOG)
