Job Summary
Lead the operationalization of MediaMarktSaturn's federated data governance framework across ~11 markets within the Data & AI function. Own and evolve enterprise data governance policies, standards, data classification, and metadata management; coordinate the Data Domain Council and support domain working groups; define KPIs and remediation workflows for data quality governance; maintain the enterprise data catalog and business glossary on GCP/BigQuery using Dataplex, DataHub, Collibra; support GDPR activities including PII discovery and RoPA maintenance; collaborate with Legal, Tax, IT Security, and Data Privacy to align governance with regulatory and risk requirements; monitor governance maturity and report progress to the Data Board; act as the operational interface translating governance requirements into actionable processes across business-domain leads.
Required Qualifications
- Several years in data governance, data management, or a related discipline in a complex, multi-market organization
- Strong command of data governance frameworks and best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK)
- Hands-on experience with data catalog and metadata tools — Dataplex, DataHub, Collibra, or similar
- Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy requirements
- Proven ability to work in a federated model
- Cloud data platform experience, ideally GCP/BigQuery
- Excellent communication skills in English; German is a strong plus
