Job Summary
Curate high-quality Japanese Art & Antiques auctions by evaluating, selecting and presenting objects with strong buyer appeal and commercial potential. Assess authenticity, condition, quality and market relevance, providing accurate estimates and maintaining high curation standards. Support sellers with expert guidance on submissions, auction strategy, reserves, estimates and auction performance. Identify and develop new supply opportunities by building relationships with dealers, galleries, collectors, artisans and specialist sellers. Contribute to broader Asian Art & Antiques initiatives, including cross-category themes, special sales and collection opportunities. Lead projects that support category growth, using market insights and performance data to improve results and develop new approaches. Collaborate with experts and cross-functional stakeholders to grow supply, promote auctions and deliver a positive experience for buyers and sellers. This is a 100% remote role based in one of our European hubs. Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Japanese Art & Antiques, including authenticity assessment, condition evaluation, valuation and market knowledge.
- Professional experience within the Asian art, antiques, auction, gallery, collecting, curatorial or online marketplace sector.
- Understanding of the European buyer and seller market for Japanese Art & Antiques.
- An established network of dealers, collectors, galleries, artisans, sellers or other industry contacts.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in auction performance, seller engagement and category growth.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and market insights to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced digital environment while contributing to shared team objectives, with fluent English.
