Experimental Physicist to run experiments at pulsed-power and other facilities, design and implement optical diagnostics for the Demonstration System, and develop analysis methods for experimental data; requires experience with optical diagnostics in fusion or high-energy density experiments and a Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent experience; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; located in San Leandro, CA with on-site in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D degree in a relevant field, or other relevant experience
- Experience with optical diagnostics in fusion or other experimental science, especially with interferometry, polarimetry, velocimetry
- Experience conducting fusion or high-energy density experiments, especially on pulser or laser driven inertial fusion facilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment
