Job Summary
Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and diagnostic procedures including digital radiographs and ultrasound. Prepare patients for surgical and dental work, monitor anesthesia, and administer medications, vaccines, and fluids as directed. Collect laboratory samples, provide patient restraint, maintain accurate medical records, and communicate discharge instructions to clients. Maintain an organized treatment area and workflow while working in a fast-paced environment. Rotating Saturday availability is required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Experience with blood draws and IV catheter placement
- Knowledge of surgical preparation and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, team-oriented approach to patient and client care
- Availability to participate in a rotating Saturday schedule
