Job Summary
Conduct compassionate patient care, assist with medical procedures including IV catheter placement and venipunctures, and administer vaccines, oral meds, and SQ/IM injections. Monitor anesthesia, perform basic in-house laboratory tests such as bloodwork and SNAP tests, and maintain accurate patient medical records. Obtain thorough histories from owners, communicate professionally regarding care and medication, and prepare treatment plans and cost estimates based on veterinarian recommendations. Requires minimum 2-3 years of experience with strong clinical skills and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
- Able to administer vaccines, oral meds, SQ / IV / IM injections
- IV catheter placement
- Venipunctures
- Monitor anesthesia
- Perform basic in house laboratory such as bloodwork, SNAP tests
- Able to obtain quick and thorough history from owners
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, including treatments, procedures, and observations
- Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care, medication administration, and veterinarian recommendations
- Prepare treatment plans and cost estimates based on the veterinarian's recommendations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine
- Fear Free® certification
- CPR/RECOVER certification
- Experience with AVImark and IDEXX
