Job Summary
Conduct morning and afternoon school bus routes, transporting students safely to and from school and activities. Supervise boarding and unloading at stops, assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids, and maintain order on the vehicle to prevent distractions. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of brakes, lights, tires, and emergency exits; report mechanical issues promptly and keep the vehicle clean and sanitary. Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards while communicating with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding student behavior or delays. Work flexible split shifts with guaranteed minimum hours, earning an hourly rate dependent on experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
- Part-time schedule and summers off
- Ability to work with students
- History driving with ride share companies or taxi services
- Previous experience as a teacher, social worker, classroom assistant, hospitality worker, or customer service or retail associate
- Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 compliance (no Schedule I drugs, including marijuana)
