Job Summary
Experienced Toolmakers needed to set up, troubleshoot, and optimize progressive stamping and eyelet tooling at Cadence's Watertown, CT facility. Responsibilities include building, repairing, maintaining, and modifying progressive dies, deep draw dies, and eyelet tooling; supporting press setup and production during tool launches and changeovers; diagnosing tooling and process issues affecting dimensional accuracy and cosmetic quality; modifying tooling designs to improve product quality and tool life; performing preventative maintenance; interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, tooling blueprints, and process documentation; maintaining toolroom equipment and adhering to safe working practices. Requires hands-on toolmaking expertise in progressive stamping, eyelet tooling, and related precision metal forming; proficiency with toolroom equipment (manual lathes, Bridgeport milling machines, manual surface grinders); strong understanding of metal forming principles; solid measurement and quality practices; and excellent problem-solving skills. Preferred Journeyman Toolmaker certification or equivalent experience; experience with stainless steel and thin-gauge materials. A hands-on, collaborative approach and commitment to precision, safety, and continuous improvement are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of toolmaking experience in progressive stamping, deep draw, eyelet tooling, or related precision metal forming environments
