Job Summary
Develop, integrate, and document mechanical, fluid, and thermal system requirements to establish design for satellite programs. Maintain or modify component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools to define products for production and suppliers. Perform and document analyses and test results to validate systems meet specifications. Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities to optimize design and achieve program goals. Develop new design processes to improve development efficiency. Investigate emerging technologies to create concepts for future product designs. This role supports Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Government and Commercial Satellite Programs.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years' experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 3+ years' experience with structural design or the design of mechanical sub-systems or components
- 3+ years of experience with subsystem engineering, including harness, thermal protection system, and/or prop feedlines/layout subsystems
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
- Tier 5(T5) or agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program Post-Start
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions
- 1+ year of experience with schedule and budget management, stakeholder communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and requirements are met
- 2+ years of experience with designing and installing multi-layer insulation blankets
- Effective time management, communication, technical writing, presentation development, facilitation, and organizational skills
