Job Summary
Prepare complete, accurate individual and business tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations through in-depth interviews that uncover financial changes and tax implications. Conduct client-facing advisory sessions to deliver personalized recommendations, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance. Build trusted relationships by offering empathetic, consultative service and relevant product solutions within a client-focused office environment. This seasonal role requires successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment and at least one year of tax preparation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
- Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
- Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
- Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution
- Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
