Job Summary
Experienced Structures Mechanic - B-52 in San Antonio, TX. Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas; locate blind holes for new structural items; seal, paint, shim, and preserve structures per repair processes; read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements; utilize fixtures and tooling for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts; troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and sheet metal/structural modifications; access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate parts/discrepancy requests; maintain required certifications and permits; ascend/descend ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift ~35 pounds; ensure safe work environment via Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout; onsite only at San Antonio, TX; must be able to obtain US Security Clearance; interim/final Secret clearance post-start; pass an assessment during training; shift is variable; post-start visa sponsorship not offered.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless)
- 10+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, standard operating procedures
- 10+ years of experience using structures hand tools (drills 45 and 90 degrees, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, rivet guns)
- 10+ years of experience working heavy structures (locating, drilling, countersinking, fastening) on aircraft
- Ability to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, holidays
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance (US Citizenship) and pass training assessment
