Job Summary
Conduct condition assessments and develop life extension strategies for critical assets across pressure vessels, pipework, and rotating machinery. Perform finite element analysis and failure investigations while ensuring compliance with codes such as ASME, API 579, and BS 7910. Collaborate with clients to diagnose defects and resolve structural integrity challenges for high-value facilities in energy, process, and rail sectors. Travel for site visits and plant walkdowns to deliver specialized guidance on safe asset operation. Requires a degree in engineering, experience with FEA tools like Abaqus or Ansys, and UK National Security Vetting clearance.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or a PhD.
- Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns
- Deep technical knowledge in the mechanical / structural engineering domain, with familiarity across other disciplines
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS Dyna)
- Experience with codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6
- Experience in a customer facing role for both project delivery and business winning
- Recognised by peers / industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline
- Must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in industries such as: power generation/energy sector, process and chemical, turbomachinery and rotating equipment, rail and maritime, Renewable energy, Upstream / Downstream O&G
- A consultancy background with experience in developing new business and delivery through the entire project cycle
