Job Summary
Work under a Journeyman technician on active sprinkler service and repair jobs, assisting with layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings. Follow instructions to complete assigned tasks safely and on time while maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas. Interact professionally with customers, contractors, and team members, and participate in training programs to earn state-required licenses or certifications. This hands-on, field-based role offers mentorship and paid training for those interested in the construction or life safety trades.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Genuine interest in learning a technical trade
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to ask questions
- Ability to follow through without constant supervision
- Comfort working at heights
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Interest in the construction or life safety trades
- Willingness to attend training
- Willingness to pursue state required licenses or certifications for your location
Desired Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in pipefitting, construction, or related trade
- Previous field experience working with sprinklers, plumbing, or mechanical systems
- Comfort using hand tools and basic power tools on a regular basis
- Experience reading simple drawings or blueprints
