Job Summary
Experienced Software Quality Engineer to join Boeing's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Quality team in El Segundo, CA. You will define and maintain program-level software quality engineering processes, participate in program activities from proposal through delivery, perform audits to verify conformance to approved processes, plans and standards, support test readiness, manage configuration activities, and collaborate with regulators and supplier teams to ensure quality across the software lifecycle. The role emphasizes adherence to quality standards (AS9100/AS9115) and the application of First Time Quality strategies, with strong communication and collaboration skills to drive continual improvement and risk management. On-site work is required, with relocation available and no visa sponsorship. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of software quality experience are required; active Secret clearance is required or must be eligible. Preference for experience with QMS audits, AS9115/DO-178/MIL-STD-882E, full SDLC, and modern collaboration tools (Git, Jira, etc.). The position includes travel up to 10% and a competitive total rewards package.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years of experience in a project where various software development methodologies are utilized
- 3+ years of experience in a Software Quality role
- 3+ years of experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement corrective action and/or preventive action
