Job Summary
Experienced Slitter Operator to set up and operate slitting equipment in a steel environment; lead shift as Team Leader, ensuring productivity and safety standards are met. Review and interpret work orders to follow specifications; verify materials, measurements, and customer specs; identify and address steel defects; monitor machine performance and material flow; take and upload job-related photos and maintain production records; perform operational audits and ensure compliance with procedures; maintain a clean, hazard-free work area; verify measurement tools daily; oversee scrap disposal and ensure work instructions are completed and signed off. Requires proven experience operating slitting machines in a steel/metals environment, ability to read a tape measure and perform decimal-to-inch conversions, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating slitting machines in a steel or metals environment
- Strong understanding of steel properties and ability to identify material defects
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform decimal-to-inch conversions accurately

- Strong computer skills for data entry, reporting, and system updates
