Job Summary
Perform all preventive maintenance, tire services, and emergency road service calls while conducting DOT inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance. Utilize diagnostic platforms like J-Pro and FleetCross to diagnose engine, emissions, drivetrain, wheel-end, air system, steering, suspension, electrical, and HVAC components. Complete work orders accurately, document labor and parts, and maintain shop cleanliness and tool safety. Assist in assigned duties and serve as a technical mentor to advanced-level technicians. Requires ASE certifications in diesel engines, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC, plus an Air Brake Certification and DOT Medical Card. On-call rotation and weekend/holiday availability are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Air Brake Certification
- DOT Medical Card
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Ability to attend and successfully complete HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training
- Ability to obtain required ASE, DOT, and other certifications
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call schedules as needed
- Reliable transportation and phone
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (as applicable)
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to work in shop and roadside environments under varying conditions
- Physical attendance at the primary work location
