Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance, tire services, and emergency road service calls while conducting DOT inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance. Utilize diagnostic platforms like J-Pro and FleetCross to diagnose engine, emissions, drivetrain, wheel-end, air system, steering, electrical, and HVAC repairs. Complete work orders accurately, document labor and parts, and maintain shop cleanliness and tool safety. Provide professional customer service and adhere to all OSHA requirements and safety policies. Requires ASE certifications, valid driver's license, and ability to work weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Air Brake Certification
- DOT Medical Card
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Ability to attend and successfully complete HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training
- Ability to obtain required ASE, DOT, and other certifications
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call schedules as needed
- Reliable transportation and phone
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (as applicable)
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to work in shop and roadside environments under varying conditions
- Physical attendance at the primary work location is required
Desired Qualifications
- ASE certifications preferred; Shop Technician IV must obtain or maintain the following (or equivalent) within one year of promotion: T2:Diesel Engines, T4: Brakes, T5: Suspension & Steering, T6: Electrical/Electronic Systems, T7:Heating, Ventilation & A/C
- Section 609 HVAC certification required for HVAC service
- Ability to complete TIA tire training
