Job Summary
Experienced Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, coordinating with technicians to translate vehicle needs into understandable terms, present service estimates, obtain approvals, and guide customers through the repair process. Responsibilities include greeting customers, documenting service requests, communicating with technicians for necessary repairs and timing, scheduling appointments, providing updates, presenting invoices, handling payments, promoting dealership specials, upselling when appropriate, maintaining accurate records, building long-term customer relationships, and ensuring a smooth workflow in a fast-paced shop. Requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; high school diploma or equivalent; automotive knowledge or willingness to learn; experience in service-adjacent roles; proficiency with service management software and basic computer applications; and the ability to explain technical information clearly in a customer-friendly manner. Full-time position with benefits and growth opportunities. Reports to: Cliff Christian; Service Manager / Fixed Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in automotive service a plus
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in automotive customer service preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and services (or willingness to learn)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner
- Proficiency in service management software and basic computer applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A customer-first mindset with a focus on building trust and loyalty
